Episode 1: Introducing It's OK to Love Yourself, my Journey to Self-Love & Self-Acceptance
The first episode of it’s ok to love yourself was published on May 10th, 2020. I had the idea for this podcast back in 2019 during a break in between jobs where I spent time really reflecting on who I was, what was important to me, and what I wanted to share with the world.
After a lot of brainstorming of potential podcast titles, it’s ok to love yourself came to my mind. I love it because it’s reflective of giving myself the permission I needed to reclaim self-love. You see, growing up in a fat body I always felt like self-love was not accessible to me. I internalized so many messages that told me my body dictated my worth - and I felt really trapped and overwhelmed in my own negative thought patterns.
